What exterior painting on the Sapphire Coast actually involves.
An exterior repaint on a coastal NSW home is not the same job as an exterior repaint inland. Salt air, UV intensity, and coastal humidity mean the prep requirements are higher, the product selection matters more, and shortcuts taken at the preparation stage show up as failures within a few years rather than a decade.
We assess the current surface condition first — how much chalking, where the mould is, whether any timber needs attention before paint goes on — and that assessment drives the prep work and product specification in your quote.
What we include.
- Full surface wash and mould treatment before any paint is applied
- Sand back chalking and loose paint to a sound substrate
- Fill cracks and gaps (around windows, joins, trim edges) with flexible exterior filler
- Spot prime all bare or raw surfaces before top coat
- Coastal-grade or standard top coat depending on proximity to the ocean (specified in your quote)
- Eaves, fascias, window frames, door frames, and trims included as standard
- Site protection (driveways, gardens, hard surfaces) during work
- Full clean-up and rubbish removal on completion
- Written quote with paint brand, product, sheen, and number of coats specified
Paint selection for coastal homes.
Within about 2km of the ocean, we specify high-build exterior coatings with enhanced UV and salt-air resistance — typically Dulux Weathershield or Taubmans All-Weather in the relevant sheen for your home's style. For homes further inland in Bega, Cobargo, or Bombala, standard premium exterior products are appropriate. We put the specific product name and reason in your written quote before any work starts.
Typical job timeline.
A standard single-storey home takes 3–5 working days for a full exterior repaint. Two-storey homes or homes with significant prep work (heavy chalking, mould, bare timber) take longer. We include a realistic timeline and a planned start date in your written quote.
Where we work.
We paint exteriors across Merimbula, Bega, Eden, Tathra, Narooma, Cobargo, Candelo, Bombala, and surrounding areas. See all service areas.
How we work.
Four steps, start to finish. Everything is in writing before we start — no surprises at invoice time.
Site assessment
We come out, walk the exterior with you, and assess the surface condition — chalking, mould, bare timber, cracks. The assessment is free. It informs the prep work scope and product selection in your quote.
Written quote within 48 hours
You receive a written quote itemising all prep work, the paint system (brand, product, sheen, coats), surfaces covered, total price, and a planned start date. No verbal estimates that change at invoice time.
Prep, prime, paint
We prep the surface properly — wash, mould treat, sand, fill, spot prime — before any top coat goes on. More than half of paint failures come from painting over unsound substrate. We don't cut corners here.
Completion check and guarantee
We walk the job with you at completion. Any touch-ups are done before we're off site. The workmanship guarantee period and terms are in your quote — if something isn't right, we come back and fix it.
