What roof painting involves.
A roof paint job is not just a coat of paint over whatever is already there. The preparation is the most important part — and the part most often skipped by operators who are focused on price rather than longevity. A coating applied to a poorly cleaned or unsound surface will fail within three to five years. Done properly, a roof restoration adds ten to fifteen years of service life.
We assess the roof structure first. If the tiles are cracked, the ridge caps are loose, or the metal is past restoration, we'll tell you before we quote the coating work. A restored roof looks great — but you need to know the structure beneath is sound.
What we include.
- High-pressure roof wash — removes mould, lichen, algae, and loose coating
- Mould and algae treatment (biocide application) after wash
- Re-bed and repoint loose or cracked ridge capping (where needed)
- Patch repair of cracked or broken tiles (where structurally appropriate)
- Full primer coat over the washed surface
- Two-coat manufacturer-warranted membrane top coat
- Colour selection from full manufacturer range
- Works on concrete tile, terracotta, metal, and fibre cement roofs
- Written quote with product, number of coats, and workmanship guarantee
When roof painting is — and isn't — appropriate.
Roof painting is the right solution when the roof structure is sound but the surface is failing — coating is chalked, lichen is established, colour has faded, or the tile surface has started to pore. If the structure itself is failing (sarking is gone, multiple broken tiles, severe fretting on terracotta), we'll tell you, and the honest recommendation will be roof replacement rather than a restoration coat that won't last.
Colours available.
We apply products from major manufacturer ranges (Dulux AcraTex, Nutech, and others). Full colour selection is available. We can match existing colours or help you choose a fresh direction. Samples can be arranged on request.
